Hello
Everyone,
Welcome to Seaside. We are happy to offer a full hot
lunch program once again. This
letter will explain how our menu works. The
first menu will commence Sept 14th, 2009 – Sept 25th,
2009.
On the form please circle the items you wish to order for each day, or any day
for both weeks. Please total the
menu items ordered and record the total in the space provided at the bottom of
the form for the entire two weeks. When
sending in your child’s menu (please submit a menu for each child), please note
that menus go home every second Tuesday and are due back no later than the
following Tuesday. Example: Wed, Sept 2nd
due back Wednesday, Sept 9th. The
menu items ordered will be delivered for the two weeks that follow, Monday Sept
14th – Fri Sept 25th, with a new menu form going home
Tuesday, Sept 15th. NO LATE MENUS WILL BE ACCEPTED. (The
only exception will be if the child is out sick the day the menu is due back.)
If sending in a post-dated cheque, please enclose the cheque with the order on
Tuesday, dated no later than Friday of that week, if cheques are post-dated
further than that date, the cheque and order will be returned home.
Example:
cheque should be dated for Sept 11th and if dated for Sept 17th
the cheque will be returned home. NSF
cheques will be charged a $20.00 fee for processing.
Any person having one NSF
cheque, will be required to pay cash only, cheques will not be accepted any more
for that person.
If paying by cash or cheque,
the money must be enclosed with the menu. Any
menus received without cash and/or cheque will not be processed.
Please ensure that your child’s
name and teacher’s name are on the menu. If
we receive a menu without the child’s name, we cannot track that child down
until the day the child may not have a lunch.
Children tend to go without their lunch, instead of coming to the
cafeteria to see if they actually do get a lunch.
(We keep the copy of the lunch menus sent from home in the cafeteria, so
we can tell the kids if they do/don’t get a lunch on that day.)
Credits will only be given for students who are out sick, if
the parent/guardian calls and cancels lunch before 9:00am, (Please call this number 465-8663 directly). Due to
the fact pizzas and crazy bread are ordered ahead of time, we cannot issue
credits for these items. BUT
the parent is responsible for noting the credit due on the NEXT
menu, with the date the child was sick, marked beside it.
We have such a large quantity of food to prepare every day that it is impossible
to handle any special request in the preparation of the food.
NO SPECIAL ORDERS
If you have any ideas for food
choices for the menus – please call, and talk it over with us.
We are always looking for new ideas.
Please send the menu form in a
sealed bag or envelope provided from home, with your child’s name and
teacher’s name clearly marked on it. Only
the menu money and menu should be in the bag.
Example: no trip money or
class project money should be in the bag, the teachers are not responsible for
the money, so they don’t check to see if there is any other money in the bag,
and if we receive any other money it may be too late for the teacher to process.
Children should receive a menu form from their teachers.
If your child does not receive a menu, please encourage your child to
pick one up at the cafeteria, as we always have extras, or you can print one off
of the school website. It is the
student’s responsibility to hand their menu to the teacher, to be delivered to
the cafeteria.
All menu items will be prepared at Seaside with the exception of Pizza and Crazy
bread, which we buy from Little Caesar’s.
Should your child show up at school with no lunch, a phone call will be placed
to the parents prior to giving them
a bowl of soup and crackers for a cost of $1.75 to be paid the NEXT DAY.
Lunch
CANNOT be ordered on a daily basis, it must be ordered from the two-week menu.
*********If there is a storm day for bus students, the cafeteria is closed******
Therefore a credit must be
taken on the next menu, except pizza and crazy bread (no credit)
There will be no heating of any
food for students, the use of the microwave is not allowed, due to the safety
reasons and because we are busy at lunchtime.
